How Explorer MICE Designed a Multi-Day Leadership & Team Experience Across Montenegro

For OTP Bank Albania, Explorer MICE designed and organized a multi-day team-building experience across Montenegro, combining conference sessions, sailing challenges, cultural exploration, gastronomy, and destination experiences through some of the country’s most iconic locations.
Arrival Through Montenegro’s Wine Region
The journey began with a scenic drive from Tirana toward Montenegro, including a stop at Šipčanik Wine Cellar, one of the most unique wine venues in the region.
Located inside a former underground military tunnel owned by Plantaže, Šipčanik today represents one of Montenegro’s most recognizable wine experiences. The group enjoyed a private wine tasting and lunch experience surrounded by thousands of wine barrels inside the underground cellar.
This first experience immediately introduced participants to Montenegro’s combination of history, gastronomy, and authentic destination storytelling.
Arrival in Kotor & Stay at Lazure Hotel
After traveling through Montenegro’s coastal and mountain landscapes, the group arrived in Kotor and checked in at Lazure Hotel & Marina, one of the most recognized luxury and conference hotels in Boka Bay.
The evening was designed around relaxation, dinner, and informal networking moments by the sea before the main activities started the following morning.
Conference Sessions & Leadership Activation
The second day began with management workshops and conference sessions inside Lazure Hotel’s conference facilities.
However, instead of ending as a traditional business event, the program transformed into a fully immersive leadership and team-building experience designed specifically around interaction, strategy, and teamwork.
Participants received strategic tasks and clues before boarding five sailing boats directly from the marina.
Sailing Team Challenge Across Boka Bay
The group was divided into teams across five sailing boats, beginning a sailing and treasure hunt experience through Boka Bay.
Throughout the day, participants completed different challenges while sailing between some of Montenegro’s most iconic coastal locations, including Perast and Our Lady of the Rocks.

Unlike traditional team-building activities, the sailing format created a far more dynamic and engaging environment where participants had to collaborate continuously while navigating through the bay.
Treasure Hunt Through Perast & Kotor
One of the central moments of the program took place in Perast, where teams explored the town’s historic streets while searching for hidden clues and parts of a larger map.
Following lunch at Conte Restaurant, the teams continued toward Kotor for the final stage of the challenge.
Inside the UNESCO-protected Old Town of Kotor, participants searched for the final treasure and completed the last mission of the experience. The challenge concluded with a celebration on the medieval walls above the city, symbolizing teamwork, achievement, and shared success.

Evening Experience at Porto Novi
After returning to the hotel and enjoying free time, the evening program continued at Malo Ribarsko Selo in Porto Novi.
The group enjoyed a gala dinner focused on local gastronomy, seafood specialties, Montenegrin wines, and live music performances in a relaxed seaside atmosphere.
These evening experiences play an important role within incentive and team-building programs because they allow participants to connect naturally outside formal business environments.
Exploring Skadar Lake National Park
The final day of the program shifted from the coast toward one of Montenegro’s most important natural areas — Skadar Lake National Park.
Before reaching the lake, the group stopped above Sveti Stefan for panoramic views of Montenegro’s coastline before continuing toward Virpazar.
The Skadar Lake boat experience offered a completely different atmosphere from the previous days. Surrounded by mountain landscapes, wetlands, water lilies, and traditional fishing villages, participants explored one of the Balkans’ most important ecosystems and one of Montenegro’s most authentic natural destinations.
Combined with local food, lake views, and relaxed conversation, the experience provided the perfect conclusion to the program.
